Meet Santa Fe-based, artist-duo Sandra Wang and Crockett Bodelson of SCUBA.
Tamarind became interested in SCUBA during their Ice Shelf tour, in which they drove a solar-powered and biodiesel-capable mobile gallery across the country. More recently SCUBA contributed to the epic playground installation known as Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, the work of an artist collective that grew to 135 artists. Works by SCUBA have been exhibited world-wide, and in Santa Fe at institutions such as James Kelly Contemporary, Center for Contemporary Arts, and SITE Santa Fe.
Tamarind is releasing eight new editions by SCUBA, a series of buoyant prints incorporating areas of hand-coloring and collage elements. The new prints forge a traditional medium with a concerted approach, bringing another layer of complexity to the already multifaceted collaborative.
Tamarind Master Printer Brandon Gunn will demonstrate the blend roll process, also known as "rainbow roll" in which multiple colors are applied to the roller, and transferred onto a single matrix.
The demonstrations will take place at 4:30 and 5:30.
